ok, I'm trying my best here, but I do not guarantee for accuracy
in the first paragraph it's only about the con and where it was and that they had a chance to do an interview with chuck... and who he is... the technician in atlantis and he describes himself as chucknician or the one who pushes the buttons
He was very friendly and answered the first, not really serious question, what his most frequent sentences are in the show:
"Well, obvious "unscheduled activation" "incoming wormhole" or his favorite "Dr Weir, we have a problem"." Those three are his favorites.
The next question was, why his character isn't in the first half of Atlantis after his appearance in Adrift.
He said, he was very surprised by that as well, but explains that the producers wanted to make the role of the technician more colorful (I don't really know how to translate it other than that *lol) and he is back in episode 8 "the seer".
"There two are chinese technicians for a short period, a man and a woman. I believe they wanted to add an international flavour to the role. There is no other reason. It was simply that the thought, everyone in the control room is white so they mixed it a bit. That's all. But there is that other episode, with a beautiful woman. She is like a technician as well and we work together.
Actually, that's a great episode for David Nykl's character (Dr. Radek Zelenka). He saves everyone in that episode. Don't ask the title of that episode... I can't remember, but I can definitely recall that episode... he comes hin, smashes everything (??), does all the work and saves the day... yes, he saves everyone."
Then Chayiana writes that they think the ep is "Quarantine". In that ep will be a nice scene with Zelenka and Carter in the transporter.. (That's what David told us, I think)
The next question was if they will develop his character and if he ever gets a surname.
"Seriously? I don't think the character will get much development. I know that's a sad. But I don't really think, that they want that. I think, they like him as he is and only runs through the frame once in a while. It's almost like a game "Oh, look who's there?" or "There he is!". That's what it is. They already have enough main characters they have to concentrate on. But I would certainly volunteer for a character development, but I don't know if they will ever do it."
Asked, if he already knows anything about contract negotiations for season 5 he said, that for now, nobody knows if he/she comes back or not. Obviously everyone wants to come back, but it's to early to tell, because the fourth season ends in a cliffhanger. "Surprise!"
Chayiana then asked if he could tell something about the final ep "The last man".
"Sorry, I can't. But I can tell you so much. It happens in several groups. Every group has its own story. The characters aren't together like it was in Adrift. In "The Last Man" the characters are split into different groups, so you can think one group will make it, the other maybe not. That's really frustrating, cause you don't know who will be back?"
The next question was for a little bio
"I still live in Canada, in Vancouver. But I was born and raised on the other site of Canada, a region called Nova Scotia. That's at the Atlantic Ocean, now I live at the Pacific Ocean. It seems I'm stuck between oceans. Now that the 4th season is wrapped I've started auditioning again. I've done dubbing for Anime films and Cartoons some time ago and I liked that, so I try to get into that again. Usually I don't have time for it, because of Atlantis, but between the seasons I'd like to do it again."
Now Chayiana explains, why he doesn't have time during shooting cause he is the stand in for David Hewlett. And she explains what a stand in does.
Then she asked him how he came to be the stand in.
"I've worked at a production called "Jeremiah" and one of the directors was Martin Wood. And he called me one day and asked if I could do him a favour and be the stand in for David. That's how it was.
I was sceptical at the beginning, cause it's really time consuming and I was working at the other show, but Martin said "Just try it"...and now you know.. it's four seasons later. But it's just a great show and Martin Wood is a great guy and great to work with."
Now comes the bit from the video I don't think I have to translate that back to English *lol*
It's really strange to translate the interview back to English, knowing that I will never actually write what he had said.. but I hope I got the most parts right Sorry if my English is maybe a little... well... German *lol*
