Well, I always pegged the Chukcnician as some kind of an engineer, working with Zelenka and Grodin as he does/did *sniff*. He can't be a Marine, because the Canadians don't have Marines. Chuck said at Pegasus 2 that he'd like to think of Chuck as having a naval background. This would be nice, as I see the Chucknician being a big sailing fan, but the Canadian Navy don't have sergeants. Sorry, Chuck That leaves Air Force and Army, like will says. I suppose Air Force is the most obvious, but personally, I like to think he's Army

He could be in either, there really should be an episode where he relives his past, so we can get a definative answer.

Oh yes, absolutely But... there is always the worry that if we get to know too much about the Chucknician, he could end up one of TPTB sacrifices, or at worst a red shirt. Apparently at Pegasus 1, Ivy Isenberg told everyone it was better Chuck didn't have a name! Less likely to be bumped off...

Apparently is CF - Canadian Forces, and if he was in the air force (which seems to be the go in Stargate), he'd be a part of the Canadian Forces Air Command, and is a Sergeant (which is a rank only in the Air Force or Land Force). Wikipedia is handy. I knew there was a reason we let you come here Will! Guys do come in handy sometimes! Better for actual information, rather than random drooling... Anyway, this discussion is actually quite interesting and... dare I say it... intelligent? Who'd have thunk it? An intelligent, interesting, worthwhile discussion on a fan forum! I have to admit I'm completely useless when it comes to ranks in the miltary. For ages I thought my nephew was a lieutenant only to be told there weren't any in the ATC... Ah well I would have liked Chuck the techie to be Navy as well... don't know why... I guess the communications thing would have worked well. But I suppose if I had to choose I would rather he was in the Army... far more 'real' men in the Army! *Runs from all the Shep fans*

Perhaps he should get a promotion or something!
Or he should push McKay out of the way and fix something, cause that'd be hilarious.
Or AU!Chuck where he is in charge of Atlantis.

I was actually just watching Progeny, and it occurred to me... Does Chuck still shout, "Offworld activation" when Weir isn't there??? I think it would be so cool if he saved the day, especially if he did shove Rodders out of the way to do it

A promotion would make him a Warrant Officer - Warrant Officer Chuck Wolf. Has a nice ring to it... AU? He was pretty much in charge of Atlantis in Irresistable

I'd love to see him go offworld and I don't mind if he comes back slightly injured because then he'd be like half naked/wearing scrubs in the infirmary!!!! ;D true Carson's not there to look after him but maybe there'll be a cute new Dr?
would also like to see Chuck in other areas of Atlantis like the Mess Hall, maybe McKay can be having a somewhat loosing debate about icehockey or something and he calls Chuck over to join in? ok so that's a bit cheesey!
deffo with the saving the day idea! would make a change!!!

Oh yes, you're reading my mind there, surfy_sah A tiny bit of Chuck-whump can't be a bad thing And I think you should ask Chuck to see what the odds are of getting the writers/directors to pop him in a mess-hall scene, even in the background! Hmm... lots to muse on there!
